Information for Alumni

Good relations with Alumni are the most important feature of a development for any academic institution Therefore the Department of North American Studies establishes strong ties with its Alumni.


If you are an Alumni of our Department and you are interested in contacting us and become a part of our Alumni network, have a look at our Facebook page or visit our Facebook group called KAS Alumni that was establish specifically for the purposes of connecting Alumni with the Department.


The Department welcomes any activity initiated by the Alumni that may enrich academic or professional life of current students. Are you interested in getting hard working unpaid intern? Our Alumni

In more than two decades of its existence, the Department has created a number of successful Alumni who now work at various government offices, media, private sector, but also in international institutions and corporations. You can meet our Alumni at Institute of International Studies and other think-tanks, various ministries etc.


To illustrate, there is a short list of very recent successful graduates:


Filip Snášel graduated in 2012. When working for the media, he visited Czech soldiers in Afghanistan and is currently doing PR for various companies including for example Fujistsu.

Richard Zábranský graduated in 2013 and currently works in Brussels as Coordinator of Czech National Delegation at European Regions Committee.

Tereza Kamal graduated in 2013 and currently works at the Commercial department of the U.S. Embassy in Prague.

Jaroslav Zukerstein graduated in 2013 and apart from being doctoral student at our Department he also finished preparing for a career of professional diplomat at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic.
